master of Turkish art, Nuri Iyem, with the exhibition “Nuri
Iyem 100 Years Old / Portrait” to open on September 16. The
exhibition may be viewed until October 30.
“Nuri Iyem 100 Years Old / Portrait” is the most comprehensive
exhibition among those held so far for the grand master which
also features, besides Nuri Iyem’s iconized portraits made
during his 68 years as an artist reflecting his different periods,
also his previously not shown works and some incomplete
projects from his studio.
To present Nuri Iyem’s private portrait as an artist as much
of his portraits, the replica of Nuri Iyem’s personal studio to
be included in the exhibition will make the event an archive
exhibition rendering the inner world of the artist visible with
the personal belongings of the artist, documents, letters and
personal notes from his own archive.
