X-ist hosts No(ir)land, the seventh personal exhibition by the artist Ansen, until May 9, 2015.
No(ir)land is a land, composed of the what has remained in the artist’s mind from the pages of encyclopedias that he has frequently leafed through when he was young, as blended with the reality of the present, where the screenwriter is a child, the actors are the Victorian and baroque characters in the encyclopedia images, and the place is a “no land”.
The artist’s world of imagination actually creates an alternative reality, blended by those he wants to escape and be relieved from today. In the “No land”, the viewer questions whether what actually is being told is a world that is draining away or a land escaped to from the present world.
