Applications have started for the 11th Home Furniture Design Contest organized by the Turkish Furniture Industrialists Association (Türkiye Mobilya Sanayicileri Derneği – MOSDER), under the internet sponsorship of Mimarizm. The contest application deadline is July 22.
The contest intending to contribute in the development of the future vision in the field of home furniture, to support the product identity exhibiting the design quality of the Turkish furniture industry and contemporary Turkish design, to enable the future designer candidates to meet with the furniture sector and to award successful designs in this field, is comprised of several categories.
These categories are; Seating – Relaxation (seating groups, armchairs, sofas, relaxation couches, etc.) Storage, Protection, Organization (furniture in the dining room), Complementary Furniture and Accessories (coffee tables, bookshelves, shoe cabinets, TV units, hangers, bookcases, telephone stands, hall stands, tables, chairs, etc.), Sleep (Bedroom furniture), Youth room (furniture in the rooms of youngsters) and Home Furniture for the Handicapped. There is a separate jury of 3 members for each category.
The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students, studying at the Industrial Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Woodwork Industrial Design departments of universities, may participate in the contest.
