Adıyaman is a rapidly growing city, owning historic and
cultural values. It has the region’s distinct character both
climate-wise and also in terms of way of life. Despite the
urbanization habits void of content and quality ongoing
all over the country, the building habits dating to ancient
times have taken root in the region.
Competition land is located on Vartana Road. The boarding primary school
lying to the north of the land and the love homes project on the south
may lead us to predict that the region will develop as a social, educational
area. Considering that the city may grow towards this region in the future;
the urban model which may be proposed by the attitude towards the road
front and buildings is a matter deserving of discussion…
Active Life Center should be designed under a scenario promoting the
most proper function relationship, accessibility for handicapped residents
and veterans not detached from the character of the region based on
being peaceful and comfortable in terms of scale and space sentiment,
establishing the outdoor-indoor area relationships in a rich manner.
Undoubtedly, accessibility is the most important criterion for this project.
Taking into account the desired program and the size of land, it is observed
that almost all spaces will be level. It is possible that the entirety of the
required spaces may sit into a small scale city model relationed by “pedestrian
roads” we have been yearning for in the towns of today. It seems
more ideal that users socialize at outdoor – semi-outdoor spaces rather

The second square, which is relatively calmer, is connected to the library,
therapy area and the guesthouse. The roads extend to the rear towards
the recreational areas, featuring hobby gardens and sporting fields.
As the building language takes on a humane road scale attempting to
get rid of monotony, it creates rich perspectives through fragmentation.

Now, this is not just a building; but is accessible, social and peaceful aggregation
of roads and yards. What is yearned for is a model of a humane city…

the spatial hierarchy setup.
Masses are typically fragmented in such a way allowing different activities
and socializing within themselves, creating interrelated voids. Fragmentation
is also raised to the third dimension, playing with the heights
of the masses. The urban texture becomes a factor directly affecting both
living and also the language of the building. The single directional setup is
zoned on two main axes. Uniting with event squares at both ends, these
axes are distanced from being monumental by way of shifts from place
to place.
There are two basic approaches to the building; one from the road and
the other one from the car park on the south. There are also secondary
alleys from the service road planned to go around the whole site.
When one enters the building, he is first faced with the entrance building,
the administration area, multi-purpose halls, cafeteria and sales outlets,
all surrounding a square. Two roads extend from this square towards the
