The book series “Portraits from the History of the Chamber of Architects”, which is organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Branch of the TMMOB Chamber of Architects, consists of books published about professional elders who have left their mark on the work of the Chamber of Architects. Starting in 2017 with the book “Portraits from the History of the Chamber of Architects / Aydın Boysan”, the series includes many valuable names. The series, which continues with Cengiz Bektaş’s book, aims to compile and bookize what the masters, who have contributed to the architectural environment in different aspects, can convey from their lives, together with documents and visuals.
Printed with a foreword by Gönül Bektaş, this book, which includes extensive interviews with Cengiz Bektaş in different settings, writings on Bektaş, presentations at the “Cengiz Bektaş Architecture” panel held at the Istanbul Metropolitan Branch of the Chamber of Architects in 2018, and Bektaş’s extensive personal archive, traces Cengiz Bektaş’s life full of architecture, poetry and art, and brings it together with readers.
