Standing out as the first privately held museum of modern art of Ankara, the Evliyagil Museum hosts its first comprehensive exhibition following its opening exhibition. Being a neighbor event of the 15th Istanbul Biennial and curated by Derya Yücel, the “HOME” exhibition is getting ready to present works of 38 artists to the art enthusiasts on September 9, under the roof of the Evliyagil Museum.
Home, besides being a unifying power for the concepts of memory, self, individual, family and identity, provides a basis for a research towards multi-layered meanings such as neighbor, neighborhood, city, society, environment, space, belonging and geography, within the dialectics of inside and outside. Home presents a diagram for artists in order to guide their thoughts, memories and dreams. “Home” reinterprets the productions of artists from different generations and art practices around the notion of home. The curatorial framework of the exhibition is based on a synthesis that dwells on the intersections of art and artistic production practices beyond their diversity, common narratives of the image beyond its uniqueness based on subjective interpretation and formal dialogues beyond the multilayers of conceptual contexts. “Home” originates from the dynamic hosting of the Evliyagil Museum, which enables transfusable, probabilistic and multi-layered synthesis along with visiting non-collection works.
“HOME” showcases works of Eşref Üren, Yüksel Arslan, Komet, Can Akgümüş, Canan Tolon, Necla Rüzgar, Gözde İlkin, Fırat Engin and Yuşa Yalçıntaş from the museum collection, along with works by Ahmet Doğu İpek, Ahmet Duru, Berat Işık, Berkay Yahya, Can İncekara, Cemre Yeşil, Cengiz Tekin, Çağrı Saray, Deniz Gül, Erdağ Aksel, Erdal Duman, Erinç Seymen, Erol Eskici, Ferhat Özgür, Hale Tenger, Hakan Gürsoytrak , Hera Büyüktaşçıyan, İpek Duben, İnci Furni, İrfan Önürmen, Leyla Gediz, Nezaket Ekici, Nil Yalter, Nuri Kuzucan, Romina Meriç, Şifa Girinci, Onur Ceritoğlu, Yaşam Şaşmazer and Yunus Emre Erdoğan.
