Chamber of Architects is organizing an autumn camp entitled “Sea, Space, Nature, History” for architecture students, to be held between September 23-30 in the Arsuz district of Hatay. Organized by Adana, Ankara, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, İzmir, Kayseri, Mersin, Samsun and Van branches of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (UCTEA), the camp will be carried out in cooperation with local administrations, aiming at architecture students to share architecture through experiencing it on site.
It will contribute to the Turkish State Railways property which is positioned on the coastline of the Arsuz district of Hatay to be utilized by the municipality and generate new ideas through a collective method.
It is also aimed with the event to unearth the historical and spatial potentials of Arsuz, a historic port city that has been named as Rhosus, Rhosospolis and Port Panel during the ancient period. There will be technical visits and socio-cultural activities (forum, interviews, workshop practices, concerts etc.) to be conducted throughout the camp.
During the free entry event, accommodations will be hosted by the Arsuz Municipality. Within the scope of the autumn camp, branches will not be providing back and forth transportation to Arsuz and therefore all the participants will be welcomed at the spot. The autumn camp is expected to present participatory and collective productions and all the applicants are deemed to have accepted the camp rules and collective production phases that have been specified by their branches. Details of the camp program will be announced in the upcoming days.
