Italian designer and illustrator Lucia Massari prepared a happy marble and onyx collection for Vienna Design Week. There is a bench, lighting, table and carpenter’s wood in the collection called “marbleabilia” with a play for words on marble.
Marble and onyx materials with different textures, shapes and dimensions are used together with warm materials like wood in marbleabilia. Colorful happy designs have come to life based on the idea of stressing the unique texture and color of marble using a playful language. The products comprising different parts also allow the opportunity to recycling of unused parts. Lucia Massari notes that these parts are different from each other are also a reflection of the design process which cannot be predicted. Marbleabilia was created in collaboration with Mandruzzato.
Vienna Design Festival, Austria’s largest design event, hosted more than 34,000 visitors from September 25 to October 4 this year.
