Emmanuel Babled transformed his glass blowing and design experience of 20 years into an experimental collection with “Osmosi”. The furniture and vase collection produced in limited number brings together two royal materials with ancient traditions, marble and Murano glass using both handicraft and also technology.
In Osmosi, blown glass pieces created by trade are scanned with 3D scanners and the marble is cut by CNC machines using derived data. Hence, it is assured that two different materials are united perfectly using two different production techniques. In designs with the message “without the other, one would be nothing”, a symbiotic relationship is set up between materials.
Murano glass, which is created by the blowing technique in Osmosi with quite statuesque forms, renders each piece original and different from the other.
Osmosi, exhibited in the top floor of the Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti, which is a gothic sixteen century palace by Grand Canal in Venice, which had been used as a bank and archive for a while, forms a pleasant union with the rich marble interior of the palace.
