Organized for commemorating Turgut Cansever, Turgut Cansever National Architecture Awards this year were given in
the category of “Public Buildings and Public Spaces” within the scope of architectural projects.
The National Architect Turgut Cansever Architecture Awards are given on behalf of Kepez Municipality, in the coordination
of Chamber of Architects Antalya Branch; in the memory of the MSc Architect Turgut Cansever for presenting the activities
in the architecture and building sector of our country; keeping architecture and its contribution to harmonious urbanization
in the public agenda; documenting architectural projects, raising the awareness of users and contractors and encouraging
fine arts. Each year in February, “Turgut Cansever Architecture Exhibition” is held dedicatedly for projects a year andc
onstruction for the next and “Architect Turgut Cansever Architecture Awards” are presented on February 22, on his day
of death.
Alternately distributed in construction and project categories, Turgut Cansever Architecture Awards were handed to the
winners. The 2017 project theme was determined as “Public Buildings and Public Spaces”and at least one of the three
awards was aimed at
“Public Buildings and Public Spaces” projects. Project evaluations were based on criteria such as originality, context and scale sensitivity, environmental
and cultural sustainability, sophistication of materials and details and research-based project development.
