Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects will commemorate the architect Teoman Öztürk; who was the President of Union of Chambers of Turkish Architects and Engineers (UCTEA) between 1973-1980 and passed away on July 11, 1994; through organizing “Teoman Öztürk Stories of Space Competition” on his 23rd death anniversary.
The aim of the competition is to interpret the modern urban and spatial practices through art, in order to ensure and improve the continuity of Teoman Öztürk’s contributions in remodeling the urban and social endeavors carried out by UCTEA. It is also aimed at raising awareness by fulfilling the potentials of those gravitate towards writing, along with a new perspective and interpretation regarding these endeavors.
The stories to be participated in the contest, need to address the maintenance of urban spaces and areas that are carried out in cooperation with UCTEA Chamber of Architects and trade associations.
Deadline for taking part in the competition is September 19 and the works need to be delivered until November 3, to Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects, Konur Street 4/3, Kızılay/Ankara. The award ceremony for the competition will take place on January 17, 2018.
The selection committee of the competition are: Yavuz Önen, Fatih Söyler, Behiç Ak, Atilla Şenkon and Özlem Dengiz Uğur.
