About Hatay Provincial Council and Provincial Special Administration Service Building
Submitted for the national competition held by the Hatay Provincial Special Administration, the project aimed for an innovative public building that attracts people’s attention with its transparency and environmental planning, facilitates access to units and offers luminous and expansive volumes. The needs program has been determined through a low-rise settlement that doesn’t affect the grown trees in the field. Covering the building with a green framework that allows walking from the floor, paved the way for the land to be used as a public park in its entirety.
Frequently used in the traditional and local architecture of the region, natural stones have been chosen as the essential paving material. Through using natural stones both in facades and floors, it’s emphasized for the building to integrate the mass to the ground and escalate through rising from the floor.
