Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s panoramic perspective exhibition, held with the collaboration of CerModern and Dirimart, featuring panoramic 49 photos from all over Turkey, may be viewed by art lovers of Ankara at CerModern main gallery until March 26.
The journey of coming back to photography, which started with a frame shot in Cappadocia by Nuri Bilge Ceylan who suspended his photography endeavors he started in 1980 because of his busy film schedule, continues under the title “Panoramic Perspective” at Ankara CerModern after his exhibitions abroad and in Istanbul.
The frames which express the traces of nature, the human being and history by never before seen compositions, in the artist’s own words; accommodates shots “taken all over the country with the excuse of searching for a film location”.
Forty-nine photographs, described by exhibition curator Heinz Peter Schwerfel as “the glances of a curious eye drawing the portraits of individuals, groups and scenes never disclosing their secrets”, reveal the social panorama of four corners of Turkey from the eyes of a good observer.
