The fifty-fourth one of Milan Design Week anticipated anxiously by design enthusiasts, will be held this year from April 14 to April 19. Winds of design will blow at full speed through the week with exhibitions and events “Fuorisalone” all over the city besides i Saloni, the famed exhibition area of Massimilano Fuksas, hosting more than 350,000 visitors from 150 countries in Rho, spreading over 230,000 square meters.
What makes Milan’s design week this year special is its being almost in close contact with Expo Milano to be held from May 1 to October 31. The events of last year, organized under the title “Feeding New Ideas for the City” with reference to Expo’s theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, were marked by an overall reconciliation and optimism atmosphere, thanks to the number and quality of the works by young designers, despite the debates on whether the golden age of Italian design has come to an end or not. We will see what the fifty-fourth Milan Design Week will bring with its venues, exhibitions, events, stars and surprises.
