The exhibition “Postcards from Black Sea” featuring photographs taken in Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine by French photographer Mathias Depardon, may be visited at Istanbul French Culture Center until November 12.
The artist, reflecting the realism of a complex region visually though his frames, toured these five countries for two months for this project. Living in Turkey, Depardon won Talent 2011 scholarship with his interview “Beyond Borders” displayed in French Culture Center in 2013. This project was published in Le Monde, Sunday Times Magazine, Der Spiegel, L’Espresso, Elle, Tèlèrama, Monoce, New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Photographs of the artist are part of French State Library Collection.
