The winners of the Culture and Art Focus Architectural Project Competition organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality have been announced. The competition, announced by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on August 22, 2023, focused on the question, “Can a culture and arts campus to be built in a metropolis like Istanbul be designed to meet the needs of both alternative productions and mainstream culture and art practices by responding to the diverse requirements of the period we are in?” The competition, whose main jury members were architects Sevince Bayrak, Cafer Bozkurt, Tülin Hadi, Hüseyin Kahvecioğlu, and Civil Engineer Niyazi Parlar, was concluded on December 5, 2023.
Awarded Projects; First Prize: Ramazan Avcı, Team Representative (Architect), Kutlu İnanç Bal (Architect), Seden Cinasal Avcı (Architect), Hakan Evkaya (Architect), Altan Çakılyılmaz (Civil Engineer), Emrah Güravşar (Consultant, Electrical Engineer), Alpaslan Sütbaş (Consultant – Mechanical Engineer), Elvan Ender Altay (Consultant, Landscape Architect). Second Prize: Nil Bıçak, Team Representative (Architect), Kemal Bal (Architect), Erol Kalmaz (Consultant Architect), Onur Topönder (Consultant, Civil Engineer), Arzu Güler (Consultant – Landscape Architect), Ahmet Boybada (Consultant, Mechanical Engineer), Rıza İnce (Consultant, Electrical Engineer), Başak Tekin (Consultant, Architect).
