The photography events, organized through the collaboration of SALT and Geniş Açı Project Office, continue with the discussion and production based workshop of Arja Hyytiäinen. The works produced at the workshop in May, where each participant will focus on a personal subject, will be shared on Wednesday May 20, at a presentation to be held at SALT Galata.
The works of the Finnish photographer Arja Hyytiäinen blend together fiction, autobiography and intellectual interests. According to Hyytiäinen, who is known as a live street photographer with his unique cinematographic style, photography is not only an instrument to infiltrate into the lives of others, but also a reflection of personal experiences: “I believe in trying to translate feelings into images, to feel and experience life on photography and examine and question it, to try to find what is behind visual reality. Thanks to the personal language of expression, I am not interested in photography as a style, but in personal stories that ensure that photography is the direct evidence of our existence.”
