Applications are accepted for the 12th Çuhadaroğlu Aluminum Student Project Competition. The project delivery
deadline for AL U 2015 themed “Observatory” is October 6.
This year’s theme of the single-phase national student project contest, promoting the use of aluminum technology
repeated each year to support the advancement of the industry through creative young ideas, is observatory design.
With the observatory project, the participants are expected to design a sustainable building and its surroundings
where one or more to be picked by the contestant of phenomena like natural life, climate change, wildlife and the sky, taking into account its location, may be
observed and viewed to be situated outdoors. The building, which will be designed at a location to be picked by the contestants within the borders of Turkey or
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, has to be of quality and sheltered enough to meet the personal and other basic needs of the observer.
The contest jury comprises Candan Çınar, Alişan Çırakoğlu, Kurtul Erkmen, Mehmet Kerem Özel, Yasemen Say Özer, Cem Sorguç, Zeki Şerifoğlu, Belkıs Uluoğlu
and Semra Uygur. The colloqium of the contest, the results of which will be announced October 26th, will take place on November 6th.
