Bringing Istanbul together with the contemporary art, the 11th edition of Contemporary Istanbul will once again present examples from the contemporary art world. Extending over Europe and America along with the Middle East Countries, Balkan States, Caucasian and Eastern Mediterranean Countries through the strength taken from its regional character, Contemporary Istanbul stands out as a contemporary art fair addressing the whole world. This year, the fair will take place at the Istanbul Congress Center between November 3-6.
At this year’s Contemporary Istanbul, the works of over 200 international artists including the German painter and installation artist Franz Ackermann; having her works presented in corporate collections abroad, Yeşim Akdeniz; having received many awards with his works that create an inventive language between photography and painting in many different countries especially in Italy, Ali Alışır; having exhibited his video, photograph and book installations in many galleries abroad, Can Altay; examining the established sense of art with her works consisting of ceramics, sculpture, video and photography, Burçak Bingöl; having displayed his works in many museums of the world, the Chilean artist Victor Castillo; the winner of the Golden Palm Award, director, movie and photography artist,Nuri Bilge Ceylan; standing out with her videos, photographs, sculptures and drawings, the young artist Sibel Diker; having exhibited a wide selection of works throughout her 40-year long life of art in Istanbul Modern, İnci Eviner; uniting painting and performing arts together in his works, the Spanish artist Yago Hortal; having her works displayed at the Istanbul Biennial in 2009, the Palestinian artist Wafa Hourani; one of the leading artists of the performance art in Turkey, Şükran Moral; bringing photography and the aesthetics of sketches, the American artist Isca Greenfield-Sanders; renowned by his photographic and video works, the Persian artist Mamali Shafahi and bringing new perspectives into the matter of intercultural identity, the Persian artist Farniyaz Zaker will come together with the audience.
