During London Design Festival, the spa located inside the Mondrian Hotel which is designed by Tom Dixon, hosted unconventional healing rituals developed by the design studio Bombas & Parr. Bombas & Parr aims with this event to present a different perspective to the conventional world of wellness. Some of these experiences are accompanied by specially designed food and drink, which comes with bright colors and extraordinary shapes.
Regarding this evening event organized at Agua Bathhouse and Spa; designers state that boundaries between comfort, fear and disgust are pushed to the limits for the guests, while a new interpretation of beauty and relaxation is presented through playing with the predictable norms of spa treatments.
The first experience for guests happened to be a mud mask, created by Bombas & Parr. While a part of the healing ceremony hosted by a shaman is formed by blue-painted eggs, the sounds of volcanic stones are used to create an unusual soundtrack to the massage experience…
