The Spanish AStudio craf ted “Mika350”,
reinterpreting Nor thern Spain’s ancient
Galician architecture. Mika350 made of
monoblock granite has its roots in the
Celtic defence structures built in the region
in 6th centur y B.C. In these buildings, the circular
walls made of rocks terminate in a conical roof of
straw. The designer applying this construction concept
to a lighting system craf ted mica as a pendant
lamp out of polished pure granite.
The handmade lamps include a ventilation system to
prevent it to damage the stone when heated. Mika350
has five dif ferent versions craf ted using dif ferent
stones.
