The Altuğ-Behruz Çinici Archive received by SALT Research Architecture and Design Archive, beyond presenting in detail the history of an old architecture office, enables the evaluation of the environment in Turkey during 1960-2000 with regard to architects, employers and users. The content of the archive which is still being digitalized and catalogued by SALT Research will be interpreted by programs open to visitors throughout the year.
The first program that consists of films and speeches will be realized in Open Cinema in SALT Beyoğlu on 29th of May at 17.00-20.00. The film which was compiled from Behruz Çinici’s conversation records concentrates on the works of the architect and his concept of architecture and city planning. In the conversations the scope of the archive, the architect position represented by Çinici in the society and the spatial features of METU campus which is one of Altuğ and Behruz Çinici’s forst works will be scrutinized. Besides Istanbul, the autumn programs to be arranged in Ankara will illuminate all periods of the office and the changes it had throughout the time.
