SALT starts the month of March with two ongoing exhibitions: “Dinamo Mesken” at SALT Ulus tells the story of Dinamo Mesken club set up in Bursa Mesken in 1975. The end of dreams at SALT Galata, on the other hand, is an installation dedicated to the immigrants losing their lives trying to cross the Mediterranean.
The story of Dinamo Mesken, one of the important sports clubs of Turkish football history, prepared based on the research project supported by 2013 SALT Research Funds by Ege Berensel, will be on display at SALT Ulus until March 14th with Ege Berensel’s seven-screen video installation.
End of Dreams, the new installation by Nikolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen, who works on problems of migration in different geographies in recent years and hazards facing the migrants, is shown for the first time in SALT Galata and may be visited until March 29.
On the occasion of the exhibition, Larsen’s migration based works like “Promised Land”, “Reflections from Meriç” and “End of Season” will be shown at Açık Sinema in SALT Beyoğlu. Also, artist Nikolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen will hold workshops for high school students on March 4, March 12, March 20 and March 24. The workshops will open the concepts of identity, migration and border to debate using photographs taken either by the students or photographs they find in their family archives or old book stores.
