The Chamber of Architects has been organizing Architectural Conservation Projects and Practices Symposiums on a national scale since 2010 in order to evaluate the processes of repairing buildings and building groups constituting the cultural heritage, taking into account scientific criteria, and their integration into our daily lives. The 7th National Symposium on Architectural Conservation Projects and Applications, which will be held in Istanbul Metropolitan Branch between 22-23 September 2023 in memory of Prof. Doğan Kuban we lost in 2021.
Within the scope of the symposium, architects who carry out projects and practices for the protection and use of cultural assets are expected to share their experiences with the architectural community, and the meeting is expected to create a ground for scientific discussions and evaluations. Within the scope of the symposium, legislative changes, policy decisions, conservation board decisions and KUDEB applications will be discussed, as well as conservation projects with original functions or proposed new functions, projects and applications produced for archaeological sites.
At the symposium, where the participants will make oral and poster presentations, their applications are Zeynep Ahunbay, Acar Avunduk, Betül Gemalmaz Dikici, Erol Doğan, Özlem Durmaz, Zeynep Eres, Koray Güler, Serap Kaya, Cansen Kılıççöte, Deniz Mazlum, Ayça Orhon, Gülşen Özaydın, M. Faruk Soydemir, It will be evaluated by the scientific committee consisting of Ayten Başdemir Taciroğlu and Ali Uslu. The deadline for submission of presentation abstracts to the secretariat at the symposium is August 4th.
