Granted in three different categories; Young Architect of the Year Award, Client of the Year Award and RAF Building Materials Award, the Arkitera Awards have been presented to the winners with an award ceremony that took place in Demir Demirgil Hall of Boğaziçi University on December 22, 2016.
Arkitera Building Materials Award
Since 2008, the main purpose of the Arkitera Building Material
Awards has been honoring manufactureres of the building materials
that add value to the physical environment along with their
performances, features of the materials used in productions, their
compatibility to standards and their durabilities in the face of time
and external environmental conditions. Arkitera Building Materials
Award consists of three categories: Conveying Systems, Infrastructure
Components and Macrostructure Components; Fine
Structure Components and Moving Equipments. This year, the
jury deemed a product worthy of the Jury Encouragement Award.
Therefore a total of four awards have been granted. The jury of
this year’s Building Material Awards was comprised of Alev Akın,
Gürhan Bakırküre, Zafer Karoğlu, Önder Kul and Atilla Kuzu.
2016 Jury Encouragement Award has been received by Kılıçoğlu-Megaron
Roof Technologies with their Ecotitanium Tile product. ABS
Building Elements was granted an award with their Drening product,
in the Conveying Systems, Infrastructure Components and Macrostructure
Components category. Two products have been awarded this
year in the Fine Structure Components Category: FYT Engineering
with their Duowin Aluminium Guillotine Window Solutions and Sika
Construction Chemicals with their Sika® FloorJoint product. As for
the Systems for Fulfilling User Comfort and Needs category, Seranit
received the award with their Aquanit product.
Arkitera Client of the Year Award
Presenting awards since 2005 in order to
honor the clients that support the formation
of qualified architectural implementations,
Arkitera Client of the Year Award has been
given for the tenth time this year. Just like
every year, awards have been presented in
two categories: Public Sector and Private
Sector. The jury for the award consisted of
Gökhan Aksoy, Kaya Arıkoğlu, Kerem Erginoğlu,
Bilge Kalfa and Semra Uygur.
For this year’s category, Boğaziçi University
Rectorate received the Jury Encouragement
Award with their renovation project of the outdoor space
located in the South Campus of Boğaziçi University. AND Anadolu
Real Estate Investments Inc. granted an award in the Private Sector
category for their AND Kozyatağı project. As for the Public
Sector category, Lüleburgaz Municipality was deemed worthy of
the award for their Lüleburgaz Bus Station project.
Arkitera Young Architect of the Year Award
Aiming to popularize the works and names of the young architects
and therefore set them more active in architectural productions,
Arkitera Young Architect of the Year Award was presented
for the tenth time this year. Consisting of Tamer Başbuğ,
Pınar Gökbayrak, Cem İlhan, Aytek İtez and Şebnem Yalınay,
the jury handed out a Jury Encouragement Award along with
the Young Architect of the Year Award.
Salih Küçüktuna has won the Jury Encouragement Award this
year and the most anticipated 2016 Young Architect of the Year
Award was received by Emir Drahşan.
The award ceremony came to an end after a pleasant cocktail
party organized in Özger Arnas Hall of Boğaziçi University.
