Anna Laudel Istanbul will host the exhibition “The Rebirth of Venus” until December 31st, featuring Ekin Su Koç’s works, which she started preparing in Berlin and completed in Ayvalık, and which are shaped around the themes of body perception, gender prejudices and the state of being a woman. With its title referring to gender equality through the work “The Birth of Venus” by Botticelli, one of the most important artists of the Renaissance movement in Florence in the 15th century, the exhibition presents a selection that liberates women and anyone who defines their gender identity outside of social norms and is fed by the unifying power of art and aesthetics. The exhibition creatively reasserts its aesthetic values by feeding on the 3rd wave feminist movement.
