Designed by Hasan Ayata Design Studio, a carved rock cave project The Cave Loft, is located in Talas Tablakaya, the historical region of Kayseri. The two sections of carved caves, which had no function before, were joined by opening them in the first stage design process, and then the elevation levels were equalized. Since the cave does not have any ventilation channels or external windows, the design has progressed with health comfort in mind. There are 12 suction and air-blowing vents in various parts of the cave. As the floor covering, stones of 4 different colors belonging to the region were carefully selected and terrazzo coating was made. The damaged surfaces of the cave were repaired with mortar prepared with the cave’s own soil. In contrast to the natural surface and structure, an effort was made to integrate modern materials.
