Designed by BCXSY using historical Vicenza stone, the BICOLORE collection consists of a bench, a console and a bar cabinet. The rich texture of the surface that combines the yellow and gray colors of natural stone, which has become the focal point of the design, came to life in the face of BCXSY’s plain designs. The color fusion of natural stone material, the recognition of which increases with the collection, has given the design a unique character. The contrast created by yellow and gray in the design creates a perfect balance between cold and warm tones, while each piece gives an idea of extraordinary moments when different rocks come together.
Although the Vicenza stone, which has three different colors as gray, yellow and white, is perceived as quite modest at first glance, upon closer inspection, it is seen that the surprising small series of fossils embedded in the surface of the stone reveal all the secrets of the universe, indicating its ancient origin. The depth of delicate variations in its color and structure added a different warmth and delicacy to the stone.
Through the BICOLORE collection, BCXSY aimed to highlight the beauty and sophistication of Vicenza stone. While wandering through the huge and fascinating quarries, the designers formed the core of the collection with the unique historical and natural narrative depicted through this extraordinary natural stone, by heading towards the areas where yellow and gray stones meet. The collection visualizes and highlights certain characteristics of Vicenza stone, while also depicting the correlation between volumes in underground quarries. The BICOLORE collection was first introduced during EDIT Napoli in June 2019 and was awarded the “Best-in-Show” award by an international jury.
