LATUS PARK HOUSES

Designed by NTT Architecture Latus Park Houses is located in the eastern exit of a hill overlooking farmlands close to the city center of Mugla-Menteşe. The project includes two types of multi-storey residential blocks with six six flats in total and one with three flats as well as seven large-type, four small-type single house / villa blocks and open areas for common use. For users who want to live in the city periphery while staying in touch with rural life; presenting a contemporary interpretation by layering on the traditional residential architecture in the countryside of the geography, promoting social and neighborhood relations with the arrangement of common open spaces, providing maximum benefit from the rural panorama to which it is directed and responding to the climatic characteristics of the geography it belongs to, preserving the healthy almond trees in the project area in maximum number at site planning and ensuring that they will be used in the final landscape design, being economically easily accessible as a result of the chosen construction system and material simplicity, despite the restrictions of the zoning legislation and the specific plan notes for the project area, creating an alternative to the known apartment architecture plasticity and scale for multi-storey blocks with more than one single space, and catalysing a change in this sense are produced as solutions within the scope of the project. In addition, within the scope of the project, it was preferred to use local stones belonging to that geography. In this direction, in the basement and ground floors of all buildings, in front of the carcass, 35 cm thick, magnesium-rich limestone-dolomite (Muğla-Yatağan region) with concealed joints and natural stone known as “Muğla white” marble (Muğla-Kavaklıdere region) were used in the common areas inside the building.
