The “Andy Warhol-Istanbul” Exhibition, featuring 125 works by Andy Warhol, one of the most influential names of twentieth century contemporary art and the pioneer of the Pop-art movement, meets art lovers at Istanbul Lale Museum. Under the influence of the advertising world, celebrities and consumer culture, Warhol became a part of this visual language and incorporated it into his art. His frequent use of objects from everyday life and famous symbols in his artworks contributed to the shift of art from being the privilege of an elite class to reaching the masses of the public. Warhol’s sources of inspiration include American consumer culture, celebrities, newspaper headlines and Hollywood stars. The exhibition will be open until March 31, 2024.
