Organized for acquiring a portable pavillion that exhibits the works of the humor magazine, Charlie Hebdo, the final application date for the competition is March 9.
Following the attack directed at the office of Charlie Hebdo magazine on January 7, 2015, an architectural competition is organized for drawing the attention to the freedom of thought and expression. Competition aims to achieve a mobile pavillion holding the works of the magazine.
The jury members of the competition are Alona Martinez (assistant professor, Plymouth University Faculty of Architecture), Andrejs Edvards Rauchut (Assoc. Prof., RISEBA), Audrey Mckee (architect, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, France), Carlos M Guimarães (architect, depA, Portugal), Daphné Karaiskaki (architect, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, France), Fahmi Noor (lead designer, DPA, Singapore), Gemawang Swaribathoro (architect, OMA, Hong Kong), Jenna Dezinski (Project Designer, Alterstudio Architecture), John Paul Rysavy (assistant architect, ShoP Architects, New York City), John Simons (architectural designer, KPF, USA), Mandy Too (architectural executive – DPA, Singapore), Pierre-Henri Baudart (architect, Studio Akkerhuis, France), Rahiv J. Fernandez (architectural designer, Tamarkin Co, USA), Simon McGown (partner, CO-office, USA).
The application deadline for the projects is March 23 and the winners will be announced at April 6.
