Archiprix Turkey 2023 applications are now open. The competition is the longest-running and most important award program in architectural education and an important step for young architects to start a successful career. Founded by Doğan Hasol, Şevki Vanlı, Hülya Yürekli and Ferhan Yürekli, the national competition has been running since 1996. Since 2017, the organization, which has been organized exclusively by Şevki Vanlı Architecture Foundation, continues to be organized in cooperation with Şevki Vanlı Architecture Foundation and Architects Association 1927 for the next 2 years starting from 2021. Only universities in Turkey and TRNC can participate in the competition with their graduation projects produced within the scope of the project courses for the 2022-2023 semester. For Archiprix Turkey, the definition of “Graduation Project” refers to the last project course in the school’s course catalog that the student must take and pass in order to graduate. Participants are not required to have graduated, but are expected to have passed the relevant project course. In order for the project uploaded to the system by the participant to be evaluated by the jury, the studio coordinator must have given approval. Executive approvals will be tracked online by the rapporteurship after the application process. Until December 18th, it is possible to apply to the competition. Documents to be uploaded for the application include the online application form, project panels and acceptance/declaration form. The competition also aims to increase competition between different teaching institutions with different methods and approaches, to reveal the diversity of the project topics studied, to improve the discussion environment and thus to improve the quality of architectural education at the national level.
