11 th TSMD Architecture Awards Ceremony and NewYear’s Ball organized by Turkish Independent Architects Association, was held in Sheraton Ankara Hotel on the evening of December 18, 2014, with wide participation of the stakeholders of the architecture and building industry. This year, TSMD Grand Prize went to Günay Çilingiroğlu at the Biannual Awards Ceremony held to draw attention to architects, institutions and structures contributing to the architectural setting and culture. The jury composed of Erkut Şahinbaş, Abdi Güzer, Adnan Aksu, Nesrin Yatman, Ali Cengizkan, Uğur Tanyeli and Boğaçhan Dündaralp stated that Çilingiroğlu was found to be deserving of the Grand Prize unanimously because of his multi-dimensional contributions to architecture and urban culture; and his efforts for grooming a large number of architects. The winners of TSMD Contribution to Architecture Award were Orhan Özgüner and Herkes İçin Mimarlık, TSMD Building Building Award went to Turkish Contractors Union Building and its architect Selçuk Avcı and Izmir Architects Association Architecture Center and architects Deniz Dokgöz, Ferhat Hacıalibeyoglu, Orhan Ersan, Hasan Topal, Zübeyda Özkan, Gamze Kahya, with TSMD Media Award going to Cüneyt Özdemir and Açık Radyo, and Jury Special Award going to İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts.
