Marking its 40th anniversary, selected artefacts from the Sadberk Hanım Museum’s collection will be on display at Meşher starting December 10, 2020. “Preserving the Past: Selected Artefacts from the Sadberk Hanım Museum”, Meşher’s third exhibition, will take visitors on a journey through the history of civilizations in Anatolia with 210 precious works hand-picked from the over 19,000-item museum’s Archaeology and Turkish-Islamic Art collections. Each artefact carries the story of a vast time span from the 6th millennium BCE to the 20th century, shedding light on the period it belongs to. Likewise, Meşher and Sadberk Hanım Museum are planning to launch an online event program that will run simultaneously alongside the exhibition. In line with pandemic health measures, all seminars, workshops, and events for kids will be held exclusively on Meşher’s digital platforms. The exhibition will run until April 18, 2021. A subsidiary of the Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV), Meşher features extensive exhibitions ranging from historical research to contemporary art, as well as hosts a wide range of events spanning workshops to conferences, and is located on İstiklal Caddesi in the district of Beyoğlu.
