In Alaçatı House, designed by Elvan Karadeniz Architecture, the homeowners trusted their modernist lines and left the architects free in design. In the project, the first floor was designed as two separate wings, as the users needed the bedroom unit as an independent space. The left wing, which consists of a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom, and balcony, is designed as a parent unit, does not merge with any other place, and is completely independent.
In the project, the zoning decisions of the Çeşme Municipality were applied to the outer shell of the building. In this direction, the building was located very close to the road. The façade is covered with Alaçatı stone. On the façade facing the road, two symmetrically positioned wooden bay windows, the dimensions of which are determined by the municipality, were designed. Some of the differences suggested by the architects were accepted by the municipality and a green entrance was created by pulling the ground floor inside. In addition, the design of the bay window was modernized with the shape of the stone cladding, and the roof parapets were kept high and the tile roof was hidden. The building, which opens to the road with bay windows on the western façade, is completely transparent on the eastern façade.
The most important structural element in the interior design of the project is the two-story vault, which starts from the entrance and covers the entire building. The vault, which is closed at the entrance and open in the middle courtyard, divides the first floor into two wings in the hall and descends in the pergola and ends in the pool. Therefore, the hall reaches twice the height on the central axis. Located in the center of the axis as another important design element, the green open courtyard is not included in the building area according to the zoning decisions, so it became an extra space and an alternative open area. It takes the daylight into the center of the building and contributes to the coolness of the building by providing natural ventilation.
The two-story deaf courtyard wall opposite the kitchen that opens to the inner courtyard with a service counter is completely greened. The living room is placed on the garden façade of the building and is integrated with a large pergola along the façade. This veranda with pergola, which emerged as the main living space of the summer house, integrates with the large pool at the front. Natural lighting is controlled by the central courtyard and large pergola in the building, which is located in this geography that receives intense daylight. Spatial integrity is achieved by opening the entrance hall, middle courtyard, kitchen, living room and veranda with a pergola to each other thanks to sliding and folding doors.
On the ground floor, in the projection of the large vault, the floor is covered with 220 cm wide Absolute Black granite from the entrance to the pool. Dark-colored natural stone was chosen to soften the bright sunlight. All remaining spaces on both floors; wet areas, stairs and verandas are covered with micro-topping material in terms of being a material that can be used both indoors and outdoors with its waterproofing feature and to be a material that provides integrity between spaces. Dark gray lacquered cabinets and white acrylic countertops are used in the kitchen, which is completely custom-designed and produced. Microtopping material, which can be applied on both horizontal and vertical surfaces without joints, has been applied to some bathroom walls, shower and sink countertops. While ceramic is preferred in other bathrooms, white polyurethane epoxy paint is used in the pool.
Illuminated onyx marble table on the veranda with the special preference of the clients and in the kitchen, there is a Carrara marble table. In the selection of movable furniture and lighting fixtures, the preferences of the clients are given priority, while fixed furniture such as wardrobes, coach and TV units are specially designed and produced.
