“Post-Digital Histories: Cross-Sections from Media Art of 1960s and 1970s” wants to look at the history of our life after digital’s entry into our life truly, and not to leave. To do this, it attempts to read looking from today the histories written with each event, each research or art work that is part of our current paradigm starting from first endeavors; first art work starting from 1960s and 1970s.
The exhibition holds two main axes. The first one; “9 Nights: Theater and Engineering”, focuses on a series of shows which were a milestone for art-technology intersection that lasted for nine nights in Regiment Armory, New York in 1966. The second one focuses on the fourth and fifth exhibitions held in Zagreb in 1968-69 and 1973 by the New Tendencies movement.
The exhibition “Post-Digital Cross-Sections: Cross-Sections from Media Art of 1960s and 1970s” with Ekmel Ertan curator and Darko Fritz co-curator, may be visited at Akbank Sanat from December 17, 2014 to February 21, 2015.
