Projects and architecture offices, nominated for Mies van der Rohe European Contemporary Architecture Awards held every two years since 1987, for promoting successful architectural works, and the contributions of European architects into the field of development of new ideas and technologies, were announced. This year, entries were made from 36 European countries to the awards program held by European Commission and Mies van der Rohe Foundation, and 21 projects from Turkey were nominated for the awards where in total 420 projects will compete. The awards program, organized for recognizing and appreciating perfection in the field of architecture, also encourages European professionals in developing new ideas and technologies. Twenty-seven percent of the projects applying for 2015 are residences, 11 % educational, 5 % office and other 33 %; applications on sports, trade, public buildings, transportation and urban typologies. The finalists will be made public in January 2015.
