İSTANBUL MINERAL EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION HELD NUMEROUS EVENTS TO PROMOTE TURKISH NATURAL STONE IN 2014. AMONG THESE EVENTS WERE, BESIDE THE TRADE FAIRS HELD FOR INCREASING THE EXPORTS OF TURKISH NATURAL STONE, NUMEROUS FUNCTIONS HELD FOR DRAWING ATTENTION AGAIN TO NATURAL STONES. SOME OF THE MAIN ONES OF THESE EVENTS WERE THE FOLLOWING:
Coverings Trade Fair
The first one of these trade fairs was held in Las Vegas, USA from April 29 until May 2, 2014. In total, 35 local firms displayed their ware at this fair, where IMIB organized Turkey’s national participation.
Marmomacc Verona Trade Fair
Once again, IMIB did the national participation organization of the trade fair held in city of Verona of Italy September 24 – 27, 2014. From all over the world, in total 1425 firms showed up at Marmomacc, recognized as one of the largest natural stone trade fairs of the world. Ninety -nine Turkish firms had stands at the fair.
Shuitou Trade Fair
China is the largest marble importer of Turkey. Therefore, Shuitou natural stone trade fair held in China has great significance especially for marble block sellers. This year, İMİB first time took on the national participation organization of the trade fair held from November 8 till November 11, 2014.
Natural Stone Design Contest
IMIB organized the 3rd Natural Stone Design Contest Award Ceremony in Esma Sultan Yalısı in İstanbul on March 21, 2014.
The natural stone design contest, organized for the third time by İstanbul Mineral Exporters Association (IMIB) opened its doors to designers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, in addition to Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Ten designs were ranked at the contest to which 570 projects, each more striking than the other, entered. In total, TL 80,000 monetary awards were distributed to participants.
Milan Design Week
An exhibition was held from April 8 to April 13, 2014 in the Milan Design Week, known as the indispensible of the design world by İstanbul Mineral Exporters Association (IMIB), aiming to introduce the quality and beauty of Turkish marble to the world, sponsored by organized by the Ministery of Economy of rebuplic of Turkey under the aid of Turquality.
September 21, 2014 Picnic Event
IMIB, demonstrating its sensitivity to the environment with the projects it realizes in various parts of Turkey; organized a trip to Miltenpark, owned by Milten Holding in İstanbul, which was a mining area in the past and is rehabilitated and forested today with members of the press and our members of the board for the purpose of drawing attention to the environmentalist aspect of mining and to develop collaboration and relationship with social stakeholders.
December 4, 2014 World Mine Workers Day Event:
December 4 World Mine Workers Day, was celebrated in Bursa by 250 mine laborers in total coming from neighboring provinces. Various gifts were distibuted
