Organized by the vice chairman of the management board of IMIB, dear Rüstem Çetinkaya, a contact meeting concerning Turkish natural stones took place on April 15, Friday, along with the students from Kemerburgaz University Faculty of Interior Design. Following the meeting, a corporate travel is organized to support the students to experience the information they learned on site.
In this short training, the structures of natural stones, surface implementations and cutting processes are treated. The points to take into consideration when using the natural stone in their projects are explained to the young prospective students of architecture. Attracted a great deal of attention of the students, the training later continued interactively with Q&A. Both the diamond pits used during the cutting process and the equipment used in surface implementing are demonstrated for the students.
Following the practical and theoretical briefings, it’s ensured that the students experiment the given information through proceeding the event with a corporate travel. Natural stones with different textures and patterns are presented to the attention of both the students and academicians attending the visit. During the visit, the products made with the “Bookmatching” method are introduced in the training and the concretization of the learned information is ensured.
As part of the campus visits led by IMIB, the students had the opportunity to obtain information and therefore it’s provided for the company representatives, architects and young designers to analyze the natural stones one by one and all the questions of the students are meticulously answered.
