Embracing the meaning of “imagining, visualizing and fantasizing”, “imagination” prioritize the future as a temporal geography. As for the future, in accordance with the contemporary time theory, is a potential that we direct ourselves through acting in the moment.
Considering the fact that mankind forms the potentials to “desire, anticipate, construct and even to create” the future through its own attributes, the possibilities for various tools can be revealed. Right at this point, visual or plastic arts can be a more free media for a geographical search starting from now into the future. Because art harbors the possibilities of the most unique form of thinking, all by itself. We are now on a unique ground that creates works using a different type of transformed language even if it has started off from fantasizing and imagining. Beyond technical limitations, artistic creation invites the audience to a multi-directional imagination through the multiplicity of the meta and sub languages that it contains. Therefore, a multi-dimensional interaction field is created from the artist’s imagination to the original work and then reaching the spectator. In today’s world where the daily lifestyles are enforced by modern life as means of oppression and a medium of power, individuals surrounded by crises and wars can experience imagining through this system.
Each artwork in the exhibition represents a suggestion for fantasizing, which holds the personal imagination of the artist. From this perspective, artistic creation harbors the criticism of the things that are related with the current era and environment within itself and to the fullest extent. Gathering artworks created in different disciplines, the exhibiton opens doors into the personal imagination worlds of the artists through their practices.
