Altes Villas are made up of 6 private villas which shine out with their natural beauties in the Ortaalan district of Kalkan. These villas are positioned on a hill with an impressive sea view. Natural beauty of this scenery and the unique texture of the site were the main sources of inspiration during the design process. Buildings are aimed to integrate with the three dimensional topography along with a modest architectural perspective. Villa units are positioned in a way that does not block the sea views of each other. Each villa is comprised of a living space that is situated between two large brown walls and bedrooms which are found in the white block extending over the sea. The plan layout is conceptualized for every living space to experience the natural beauty of the sea. When you enter the main entrance on the second floor of the three-storied villas, the sea view welcomes you. There is also a bedroom located on this floor. An alternative of stairs, the elevator enables a smooth circulation between the floors for users of all ages. The kitchen and two-storied living space located on the lowerlevel, open up to an infinity pool and the sea view. Reflections of the stained-glass luminaires, add energy and color to the exposed concrete walls of the living space throughout the day.
The transparent handrails that are covered with orange films at the openings of the gallery spaces, emphasize the visual relation between the floors. Other bedrooms are located on the top floor. Aiming at maximum user comfort, high quality materials (cor-ten facade cladding, marble floor covering and wall cladding, laminated wood floor covering, sanitary ware in bathrooms, kitchen cupboards, etc…) are used both at the facade and the interiors. The texture of natural vegetation is emphasized throughout the landscape design of the project.
